INTRODUCING

JOEL HANSEN

MY STORY

The Power of Personal Brand

When I was in university, I was scrolling on my iPhone when I noticed one of North America's most successful Technology CEO was touring nearby to where I was.

I ended up sending him a clever message, which led to a series of pranks and later a coffee meeting 1-1.

What initiated the entire process of meeting him was having my "personal brand" - who I was and what I stood for - on social media. It was after that meeting with a billion dollar CEO that I knew social media storytelling is a gateway opportunity, and I could help people recreate the same moments in their career.

Joel currently works as an independent Marketing Advisor, the Communications Chair for the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, and on Linkedin as a Youth Editor, and he regularly consults leaders of recognized brands on how they can start and scale successful personal brands.

Having had the privilege to speak on the TEDx stage twice and partner with brands like Uber, Amazon, Slack, Microsoft, Adobe, Hootsuite, and Airbnb has opened his eyes to the framework that brands need to deliver their message to educate and empower their community.

In the last couple years, Joel has directed fundraising galas, large scale conferences like CIMC (which brought together 600+ marketing execs and 45+ speakers), and has also taken the speaker side at over 50+ events in North America.

On the project front, he's collaborated with brands such as the LA Clippers, Translink, Best Buy, Vancouver Canucks, Prezi, and Adobe to develop initiatives that drive brand awareness and earn media attention in front of Gen Z.
