This week’s set up:

🆘 Problem:You want to create a personal brand, but you don’t know how your voice should sound

💡 Solution:Share stories and posts just like you talk in person

🗺 Next play:Find a friend, build a list, and share one post per week that aligns with your authentic voice

Intro:

Finding your voice is something that's good for your brand and your company. You may already have a community or an audience you can talk to, but do you have a consistent tone online you use to engage them?

If not, no worries. Keep reading! If you do, use today's article to cross-reference your process. What I've found is that figuring out how to talk to your community in your authentic voice is much harder than it sounds.

Here's my Big 3:

  1. Write like you talk: it’s easier to understand and build a relationship with. ✏️

  2. Find a friend to vet your content: when they read your content, does it remind them of you? Does it sound like you as if you’re going for coffee or chatting over zoom? If it does, then that is your voice. Find a friend who can jump into the google doc and call you out when things look "too professional". 💬

  3. Start a note-pad of ideas: Whether it's your notes app or Google Doc, start compiling a list of content ideas you can riff through. Start building that creativity muscle in your idea sharing space. After you get in the rhythm of share your words, it becomes easier to ensure your content is true to you. 🗒
